Illustrated and later adapted a portrait-based logo — inspired by the historical origins of stop motion — for a university stop motion club, transforming the original 2016 design into commemorative merchandise for alumni.

This project began in 2016 as a portrait logo created for a stop motion club I co-led at my university. Drawing inspiration from film history, the design featured Mary Queen of Scots — a reference to one of the earliest uses of the technique that would evolve into stop motion, famously demonstrated in a film by Thomas Edison.

The portrait was initially sketched by hand in my sketchbook, then scanned and refined in Adobe Photoshop, where I finalized the linework and incorporated handwritten typography created by my collaborator, Walter Smits. The result was a character-driven logo that balanced historical reference with expressive illustration.

In 2024, I revisited the original artwork and adapted it into commemorative t-shirts and stickers through Redbubble for club alumni. The merchandise fulfilled an idea we had originally envisioned during our time in the organization, transforming the design into a tangible keepsake that celebrated both creative collaboration and shared history.

The project reflects both my early illustrative foundation and my continued commitment to thoughtful, story-driven design.
